A simple household target is at least 3 liters of drinking water per person per day. For comfort, hygiene, pets, formula, medication, hot weather, or cooking, store more where space allows.
Quick calculator
People x days x 3 liters = minimum drinking water. A family of four preparing for three days should store at least 36 liters of drinking water.
- 1 person, 3 days: 9 liters minimum.
- 2 people, 3 days: 18 liters minimum.
- 4 people, 3 days: 36 liters minimum.
